Dr Yasser Younis A Tolba is a Senior Consultant Intensivist and ECMO specialist, working in organ transplant and general critical care at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre in Riyadh. He is also Associate Professor at the College of Medicine, Alfaisal University.
Alongside clinical practice he directs and instructs on critical care, anaesthesia and pain courses internationally — programmes run with the Society of Critical Care Medicine in the United States, courses endorsed by the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine, and the Royal College of Surgeons' CCrISP course in the United Kingdom.
Critical Care Academy brings that teaching together in one place, so that the courses he already delivers to units and training programmes are available to clinicians wherever they work.
Courses directed
Courses and conferences Dr Tolba directs or instructs on, with the societies and institutions behind them.
Approach
Four principles shape every course in the catalogue.
Every module is written and delivered by a practising intensivist, not adapted from someone else's material.
Teaching starts from the decision you actually have to make, then works back to the physiology and the evidence behind it.
Material is pitched for doctors, nurses and specialists together, without diluting the clinical detail for any of them.
Courses are reviewed and updated as guidance and practice change, and existing learners keep access to the revisions.
Courses can be delivered to trusts, departments and training programmes as closed sessions, in person or online. Get in touch to discuss dates, group sizes and tailoring the syllabus to your team.
